Job Overview:
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is responsible for helping people to live more independent, healthier lives for longer. We lead the health and social care system in England to deliver services that are fit for the future, ensuring high-quality care and support for all.
The DHSC Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public health and social care. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects that impact health policy, public health initiatives, and social care services. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates who are passionate about making a difference in public health and social care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on health and social care topics, analyze data, and provide insights to support policy development.
- Project Support: Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health and social care projects.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development of health and social care policies by drafting reports, policy briefs, and consultation documents.
- Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations, draft communications, and assist in organizing events and stakeholder meetings.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to various teams within DHSC.
Job Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., Public Health, Social Work, Health Policy, Administration, or related fields).
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated interest in health and social care policy.
- Experience in a public health, social care, or policy environment.
- Knowledge of the UK health and social care system.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
