The Gwynedd Council Internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about public service and community development. Interns will gain hands-on experience in local government operations, working alongside experienced professionals in various departments such as planning, environmental services, social care, and education.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of community projects and initiatives.
- Support day-to-day operations within specific council departments, depending on placement.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support council programs and decision-making processes.
- Participate in meetings, providing administrative support and contributing to discussions.
- Help coordinate public events, workshops, and other community engagement activities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on cross-departmental projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on departmental needs and intern’s interests.
Job Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., Public Administration, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning).
- Strong interest in public service and local government.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
